Mobilegs fitting guide

Fit your Mobilegs correctly

Ultra and Universal use different saddle-clearance instructions. Choose your model, then keep its video and written steps together while you adjust both crutches.

Follow your care team's instructions first. Your doctor, surgeon, physical therapist, or other licensed professional should determine the mobility aid and weight-bearing pattern that are appropriate for you.

Model guide

Mobilegs Ultra

Ultra uses a snug underarm saddle position with relaxed shoulders and a slight space at the armpit.

Ultra fits adults 4'9"–6'4" and supports up to 300 lb. Fit still depends on achieving the positions described here.

  1. Identify left and right.

Locate the left- and right-handed Mobilegs before you begin adjusting them.

  2. Set the arm length.

Hold the grip and squeeze the upper push buttons. Place the saddle snug under your arm while keeping your shoulders relaxed. Leave a slight space between the armpit and saddle and keep a comfortable 15–30 degree bend at the elbow.

  3. Set the leg length.

With your leg straight while standing, squeeze the lower push buttons and place the rocker foot about 6 inches in front of your toe.

  4. Repeat and confirm.

Fit the other side, then confirm that both crutches match and all push buttons are fully engaged.

Model guide

Mobilegs Universal

Universal uses a two-finger space between the armpit and saddle. Do not place the saddle tight into the armpit.

The Universal manual lists one adult size for heights 4'9"–6'4" and a maximum weight of 300 lb. Fit still depends on achieving the positions described here.

  1. Identify left and right.

Universal crutches are side-specific. In the correct orientation, the handgrips face toward the rear and slightly outward, while the bend in the tube faces forward and curves slightly away from the hips.

  2. Set the arm length.

Hold the grip and squeeze the upper push buttons. Keep a comfortable 15–30 degree bend at the elbow and leave a two-finger space between your armpit and the saddle. Do not place the saddle tight into the armpit.

  3. Set the leg length.

With your leg straight while standing, squeeze the lower push buttons and place the rocker foot about 6 inches in front of your toe.

  4. Repeat and confirm.

Fit the other side, then confirm that both crutches match and all push buttons are fully engaged.

Final safety check

  • Follow your clinician's instructions for gait and weight bearing.
  • Support your weight through your hands, not directly through your armpits.
  • Wear well-fitting, low-heeled shoes.
  • Inspect the crutches and replace worn or damaged parts, including rocker feet.
  • Look ahead and avoid slippery, icy, wet, or otherwise unsafe surfaces.
  • Stop and ask for help if you feel dizzy, drowsy, unstable, or uncertain.

If you cannot achieve the described fit or safely complete an adjustment, ask a clinician or qualified helper before use. For product help, contact Mobilegs.
